Follow the Sun Engineering:
Remote design refers to the practice of design being conducted at a considerable distance and in a substantially different time zone to both the manufacturing facility and the Prime design authority.

24 Hour working refers to the practice of the design being carried out over three geographical locations – so spaced that the work is conducted continuously over three sites. By definition at least one of these sites are conducting Remote Design in series with the other sites.

  • Benefits:
    • Reduced schedule / elapsed time
    • Access to global resource
    • Facilitate and enhance international partnerships
    • Pool skills and experience across all sites
    • Frequent peer checking leading to increased efficiency
